Inaugural Reducing Health Disparities in Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus Summit The inaugural Reducing Health Disparities in Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus Summit will take place March 22-23, 2013, in Baltimore, MD. The goal of the Summit is to bring together scientists and clinicians working on health disparities in endocrine-related disorders and to facilitate collaborative networks that will contribute to build programs that help reduce and ultimately eliminate global endocrine health disparities. Anyone currently working in the area of health disparities in type 2 diabetes mellitus or interested in learning more about the different aspects facing disparate communities should attend this summit. Participants in the conference will share information on current activities, programs and policies that target health disparities in type 2 diabetes mellitus. These may include biomedical and clinical trials research, education and prevention programs, U.S. and international community outreach efforts, and cultural competency training programs.
