Annual Meeting Activities
ENDO 2008 Minority Student and Trainee LuncheonThe luncheon held on Sunday, June 15, 2008 hosted minority undergraduate students participating in the Minority Access Program and minority trainees attending the Annual Meeting. This event sponsored by the Minority AffairsCommittee (MAC) provided an opportunity for students to for students to receive an overview of ENDO and receive advice from mentors on navigating the meeting. In-depth endocrine presentations were provided by Dr. Liselle Douyon, University of Michigan School of Medicine, and Dr. Alexander Ereso, University of California, San Francisco. This year's luncheon also featured a talk from motivational speaker and career development advisor, Dr. Howard Adams, who provides Career Development Seminars at Minority Institutions around the country through the Federation of American Societies for Experimental Biology Minority Access to Research Careers (FASEB MARC) program.This networking event held on Monday, June 16, 2008 hosted approximately 100 attendees interested in discussing career challenges facing minority students, postdocs, fellows and junior faculty.The reception also provided an opportunity for trainees to showcase their research while networking and receiving valuable feedback from renowned scientists in the field of endocrinology, Society members and other trainees who share similar interests. Poster presentations were evaluated by guest judges and four posters were selected to receive cash awards for excellence in endocrine research. Congratulations to this year's award winners: |
