The Endocrine Society is offering clinical endocrinology fellows the opportunity to participate in the Osteoporosis Update: Prevention, Detection, and Treatment fellows conference August 3-4, 2011 in Santa Fe, NM. Program Directors are encouraged to select individuals from their fellowship program who meet the criteria listed below and whose education, in their opinion, would be most enhanced by attending the activity.
THE SOCIETY WILL AWARD FELLOWS BASED ON THE FOLLOWING SELECTION PROCESS:
The invitation will provide airfare and hotel accommodations for three nights. The Society will select endocrine fellows on a first come, first serve basis.
DEADLINE:
The Society must receive all applications by July 5, 2011. Abstracts may be submitted separately by July 5, 2011.
INVITE DATE:
The Society will send a confirmation letter to all fellow recipients by July 11, 2010. Program Directors will also receive a copy of the letter.
CRITERIA:
Nominated fellows must meet the following criteria at the time the application is submitted:
- Have an M.D. or D.O. degree
- Be actively enrolled as a 1st, 2nd or 3rd year fellow in an accredited fellowship training program in adult endocrinology as listed in the ACGME's Accreditation Data System (ADS). Current full or part‑time faculty members are ineligible.
- Intend to practice clinical endocrinology in the United States upon completion of their fellowship training
ABSTRACTS:
Fellows are encouraged to submit an abstract for the oral or poster sessions. See attached Call for Abstracts sheet for further details. The faculty will select the four best abstracts for oral presentation at a special session at the Santa Fe Bone Symposium on August 5, 2011. Winners will be notified in advance and will be awarded with an extra night's hotel to attend the session. Abstracts must be submitted by July 5, 2011. Download the Abstract Form (PDF).
SANTA FE BONE SYMPOSIUM:
Fellows are invited to participate in the Santa Fe Bone Symposium August 5-6, 2011; the registration fee will be waived for all fellows attending the Osteoporosis Update conference.
