Ridgway Named Editor-in-Chief of Endocrine Reviews

Chevy Chase, MD— E. Chester Ridgway, MD, professor of medicine and interim chairman of the Department of Medicine at the University of Colorado Denver, has been named editor-in-chief elect of Endocrine Reviews, a journal of The Endocrine Society.

Endocrine Reviews publishes bimonthly comprehensive, authoritative and timely review articles balancing both experimental and clinical endocrinology themes. In the 2008 Journal Citation Report, Endocrine Reviews scored the highest Impact Factor ranking of the 93 journals in the category of Endocrinology and Metabolism.

“It is an honor to lead such a prestigious scientific journal,” said Dr. Ridgway. “Endocrine Reviews is home to the most significant basic and clinical experience and current research in endocrinology, diabetes, obesity and related areas such as cell biology, genetics and reproductive medicine. As editor-in-chief, I will strive to enhance the journal’s well-earned reputation and make the best even better.”

Dr. Ridgway is a past-president of both The Endocrine Society and the American Thyroid Association. His term as editor-in-chief of Endocrine Reviews will be from January 2011 through December 2015. He currently serves as an associate editor for the journal under current editor-in-chief R. Paul Robertson, MD.
