The Endocrine Society’s 2010 Corporate Liaison Board Forum

San Diego, CA— The Endocrine Society’s Corporate Liaison Board (CLB) will host its annual forum on Friday, June 18th, as part of ENDO 2010, the Society’s 92nd Annual Meeting & Expo being held in San Diego from June 19-22. The 2010 topic for the forum is “Applications of Technology to Improve Diabetes Care—Navigating the Labyrinth.”

The forum includes speakers from industry, academia and government engaged in multi-perspective discussion on the impact of new technology and emerging applications to improve care in the treatment of diabetes. Specific issues to be discussed by forum participants include:

• Self-Monitoring of Blood Glucose Update
David Klonoff, MD—Mills Peninsula Health Services
• Non-Invasive Glucose Management
Francine Kaufman, MD—Medtronic Minimed, Inc.
• Artificial Pancreas
Patricia Beaston, MD, PhD—Center for Devices and Radiological Health, FDA

“This yearly forum provides an excellent opportunity for all perspectives to join together to discuss crucial health issues—from the laboratory to device development through the regulatory process,” said Society Program Director, Sethu K. Reddy, MD, MBA.  “We look forward to a thoughtful interchange on this increasingly common and growing disease affecting more than 23.6 million Americans—children and adults.”

The CLB cultivates regular and direct communication between the Society, The Hormone Foundation, and the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry in endocrinology. The 2010 forum will be held at the San Diego Marriott Hotel & Marina. The session begins at
6:30 pm (PDT).  Reporters may register by contacting Arlyn G. Riskind at (202) 431-9495; ariskind@endo-society.org
