Chevy Chase, MD— The Endocrine Society has appointed Michael Dodd as the Society's new senior director of marketing and membership effective December 29th, 2008.  Dodd will lead the Society's programs from strategic development to sales and exposure for all products and services.

A seasoned professional with more than 30 years experience, Dodd distinguished himself as the marketing division director of The American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) in Bethesda, Maryland since 1995.  While at ASHP, Dodd developed and managed an integrated program that included membership and meetings development, drug information publishing, and strategic advertising on behalf of the Society's publications.  In addition, he spearheaded a successful and profitable movement from print to electronic promotion.

Prior to ASHP, Dodd served as an administrator in the marketing department of The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG).  While there, he played an integral role in improving the College's position from maximizing sales and revenue to recommending and developing new products and product formats.  Dodd began his career as a graphic design artist having designed and produced a vast number of books, journals, monographs, brochures and pamphlets.

Dodd earned his bachelor of science degree from The University of Maryland and a master's of business administration from The George Washington University.
