 ENDO 09: The Highest Quality Scientific Program ENDO 09 will build upon the tradition of excellence of past annual meetings with an outstanding program, including some key new sessions that will debut at the Washington meeting. The Society's Annual Meeting Steering Committee (AMSC) met in August to plan the scientific program for ENDO 09, which will take place June 10 -13 in Washington, D.C. Under the leadership of its chairs, Dolores Shoback, Jon Levine, and John Connell, the AMSC has worked to craft a scientific program of the highest quality for each of our constituencies. We are delighted to announce that ENDO 09 will launch with a Presidential Plenary session delivered by two Nobel Laureates, Michael Brown and Joseph Goldstein, who will discuss their contributions to the field of cholesterol metabolism and atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease. In order to capitalize on the Washington, D.C. venue for ENDO 09, we have also planned a series of noontime plenary lectures with high profile speakers who will discuss the intersection of endocrinology and social issues. These Endocrinology & Society Plenary Addresses include topics such as childhood obesity, the human genome & personalized medicine and health disparities. We will continue the traditional session formats from past years at ENDO 09 and, in addition to our traditional Meet-the-Professor format, ENDO 09 will feature a new interactive case-based series, featuring two experts discussing clinical cases. This new session format is titled Case Management Forum. Aside from the exceptional scientific program for ENDO, The Endocrine Society has developed an impressive portfolio of trainee-focused programming and events. ENDO 09 will continue the tradition of providing outstanding development opportunities for our fellows and students including the 3rd Annual Careers in Industry Program hosted by the Corporate Liaison Board.
