ABSTRACT SUBMISSION RULES
2. Late-Breaking Abstracts may be submitted until Friday, April 27, 2012 12:59 AM Eastern Time.
3. Once submitted, NO REVISIONS to abstracts will be allowed. If orthographic or grammatical corrections are necessary after the abstract has been submitted, a $65.00 fee will be charged.
4. Abstracts are allowed 2,500 characters. The abstract title, authors/institutions, and disclosure information are NOT counted toward this allotment. Support sources and references that are entered in the text boxes designated for this information also are NOT counted toward this allotment. Tables and/or figures are NOT allowed. Spaces are included in the total character count.
5. Authorship on multiple abstracts is permitted.
6. It is the responsibility of the submitting (contact) author to ensure that all co-authors review the abstract prior to submission. Confirmation of abstract submission will be e-mailed to co-authors listed on the abstract. Failure to obtain permission to publish from co-authors is liable to result in abstract rejection.
7. An abstract cannot contain data already accepted for publication as an original manuscript at the time of abstract submission or previously presented at a national meeting within the USA.
8. The presenting author on the abstract must attend ENDO 2012 to validate the abstract.
9. Submitting an abstract DOES NOT register you for ENDO 2012. Online registration and program information can be found on the ENDO 2012 Web site. To receive registration forms, contact The Endocrine Society at: 8401 Connecticut Avenue, Suite 900, Chevy Chase, Maryland 20815-5817; Phone: 1.301.941.0210; Fax: 1.301.941.0257; or e-mail.
10. If your abstract is selected for an oral presentation, the contact author hereby gives permission for The Endocrine Society to record the presentation for possible inclusion in a compilation of presentations from ENDO 2012.
11. Abstracts must be submitted or sponsored by Active Members or Emeritus Members of The Endocrine Society, and their Member ID numbers are required when the abstract is submitted on the abstract site. Members can get their Member ID number from 1) the upper left corner of their Society journal mailing label, 2) using the "I have forgotten my account and/or web site information" tool from the Member Login screen at www.endo-society.org or 3) contact the Society Services department at 1.888.363.6762 or 1.301.941.0210.
Active Members or Emeritus Members may sponsor up to three abstracts on which they are not listed as co-authors. An Active Member or Emeritus Member may sponsor an unlimited number of abstracts provided that he/she is ALSO a co-author on the abstracts.
12. If you are a Fellow/Student Associate, Affiliate Associate, Healthcare Associate or Research Associate of The Endocrine Society, you must secure sponsorship from an Active Member or Emeritus Member and submit his/her Member ID number when you submit your abstract. To confirm your membership status or to identify Active Members or Emeritus Members to sponsor your abstracts, you may search the Online Member Directory (this feature is for members only).
If you are a non-member of The Endocrine Society, you must secure sponsorship from an Active Member or Emeritus Member of The Society.
13. By sponsoring an abstract, the member certifies that:
- He/she is an eligible member of The Endocrine Society by submitting a Member ID number (this number can be found on the upper left corner of your journal label), by Searching the Online Member Directory, or by contacting Society Services at 1.888.363.6762 or 1.301.941.0210).
- The research described in the abstract complies with the guiding principles for experimental procedures written in the Declaration of Helsinki, the Statement of The Endocrine Society Concerning the Care and Use of Animals in Research, and the NIH Guide for the Care and Use of Laboratory Animals, 1985.
- All authors have read the Disclosure of Relevant Financial Relationships & Resolution of Conflicts of Interest on the disclosure page of the program and appropriate disclosures have been made.
14. If you are a non-member residing outside the United States and you cannot secure an Active Member or Emeritus Member to sponsor your abstract, you may request at time of submission that your abstract be reviewed by the Annual Meeting Steering Committee.
15. Complete payment information and a NON-REFUNDABLE processing fee of $90 (US dollars) are due at the time of submission. (American Express, MasterCard, or VISA accepted)
Failure to comply with any of the above rules may lead to an abstract being rejected by the Annual Meeting Steering Committee. Gross violation of research or publication ethics may result in an author's exclusion from future abstract submission.
