The 2nd Annual Endocrine Trainee Day represents a prestigious opportunity for select graduate students, postdoctoral fellows and clinical fellows to interact with their peers and be inspired by the recognized experts in the endocrine community.
The Endocrine Society is partnering with The Lawson-Wilkins Pediatric Endocrine Society and Women in Endocrinology to expand this popular program. In 2008, The Endocrine Training Day will provide specialized programming targeted to basic trainees and clinical fellows including plenary lectures on translational endocrine research and three concurrent tracks of educational sessions.
Highlights of the program include advice on career choices from some of endocrinology’s most successful scientists and clinicians, as well as their perspectives on striking a healthy balance between career and personal life.
Admission to the program is competitive with 275 travel awards provided to selected applicants. The nomination deadline is February 15, 2008.
The Endocrine Trainee Day will provide Trainees with the tools to:

| Develop new perspectives in career paths to make important decisions about different options for future training and careers | |

Who is eligible to attend?
| All graduate students and post-docs performing endocrine research; priority given to first year fellows | |
| First or second year clinical fellows in certified adult endocrinology training programs | |
| Second or third-year pediatric endocrine fellows in certified training programs |
Please note that participants of the 2007 program are not eligible to apply for the 2008 program. The nomination deadline is February 15, 2008. Trainees selected to participate in the Endocrine Trainee Day will receive complimentary registration to ENDO 08 and a $500 travel award.

| Applicants should not register for the meeting until after March 14. | |
| Selected trainees will be responsible for making their own travel arrangements. | |
| Selected trainees must attend the entire meeting. |
Nomination Process
Trainees wishing to participate in the workshop must complete the nomination form specific to their training status (clinical fellow, basic science trainee, pediatric fellow). All nominees must be members of The Endocrine Society. If the nominee is not a member of the Society, they must apply for membership before the February 15 nomination deadline. Fellow/Student Associate membership is only $20 annually and you can apply online! To apply for membership, please visit the Society’s Web site at http://www.endo-society.org/Join/. Selection Process
Endocrine Trainee Day is limited to 100 clinical fellows, 100 basic science trainees and 75 pediatric fellows – a total of 275 trainees for the workshop. An independent panel of The Endocrine Society will review and score each application. Nominees and Program Directors/Research Mentors will be notified of the results by email March 14, 2008.
Trainee Exchange
Come to the Trainee Exchange at ENDO 08 to exchange ideas, information and experiences! This space has been established at ENDO to be the hub of activity for all trainees attending the annual meeting and will host the Career Development Workshops. You can also use the Trainee Exchange as a meeting point with colleagues, to plan your day of scientific and career development sessions, or just to enjoy a few minutes of quiet before heading off to your next session.

Catch up with colleagues and friends, enjoy light refreshments and join The Endocrine Society in honoring all ENDO travel grant recipients. The reception is taking place immediately after Endocrine Trainee Day on June 14 and will be a great kick-off for ENDO 08.
