Getting to Toronto
You'll feel like a million miles away, but you're not - Toronto's probably closer and easier to get to than you may think.
Air: Toronto Pearson International Airport is Canada's principal airport, and ranks among the top 30 world airports. There are over 76 scheduled and charter airlines currently serving the airport. Air carriers provide non-stop service to 26 Canadian and 42 United States (transborder) destinations and same-plane service to 56 other International cities.
Rail: VIA Rail and AMTRAK bring visitors into the heart of the city each day. Toronto's Union Station is located centrally downtown, one block from the Metro Toronto Convention Centre and within easy walking distance from most ENDO 07 hotels.

Helpful Travel Tips
Traveling can be fun if you are prepared and know what to expect. Here we’ve compiled 10 important tips you should know before traveling to Toronto.
1. Tax Rebate for Visitors: When you leave Canada, you may be eligible for a tax refund on the goods that you bought in Canada if you take them out of the country within 60 days. For further information, get a copy of the pamphlet called Tax Refund for Visitors to Canada from the Canada Revenue Agency web site at http://www.cra-arc.gc.ca/E/pbg/gf/gst176/README.html
2. Electrical Conversion: Residential Canada uses 110 volt electrical systems at 60 hertz. You will need a voltage transformer/ converter for your electrical appliances if they operate on a different voltage.
3. Canada Measures Metric: Canada uses the metric system. Distance is measured in kilometers, speed signs are in kilometers per hour. Petrol/gas is sold by the litter and temperature is measured on the Celsius scale. Most weight measurements are in kilograms or grams.
4. Tipping: In Canada it is customary to tip for services such as restaurants, bars and pubs, taxis and hairdressers. Usually 15%, although the amount can range from 10% to 20% at the discretion of the person paying the bill. Always check whether a service charge was included in a restaurant bill, especially if paying by credit card, as this is the tip.
5. Fight Jet Lag: Even the most seasoned travelers can be affected by jet lag. Learn how to ward off jet lag at http://www.independenttraveler.com/resources/article.cfm?AID=67&category=6
6. Safeguard Your Travel Documents: Make sure you have a signed, valid passport or visa, if required. Also, before you go, fill in the emergency information page of your passport! Make 2 copies of your passport identification page to facilitate replacement if your passport is lost or stolen. Leave one copy at home with friends or relatives. Carry the other with you in a separate place from your passport.
7. Don’t Go Incognito: Be sure to leave a copy of your itinerary and hotel phone contact information with family or friends at home so that you can be contacted in case of an emergency.
8. The Best of Toronto for One Price: Visit six of Toronto’s most popular attractions for half the price! Visit the CN Tower, Casa Loma, Ontario Science Centre, Royal Ontario Museum, Toronto Zoo and the Hockey Hall of Fame all with one ticket. 9. Know Before You Go: It is always wise to check local weather and events a few days before you depart for your destination. Visit Toronto Tourism at http://www.torontotourism.com/visitor for local information.
10. Protect Your Work: If you are traveling with a poster or scientific presentation, be sure to always carry a backup of your work in a separate bag.
