When patients with type 2 diabetes fail to respond to the drug Metformin, doctors have two leading options: either proscribe a drug like Avandia, which sensitizes the body to insulin, or supplement the body’s insulin production. Presenters will include Dr. Robert Ranter of the Medstar Research Institute, who will present the case for insulin sensitizers; and Dr. David Nathan of Massachusetts General Hospital, who will present the cast for adding insulin.
The session will be webcast. Reporters can register at http://www.webcastcanada.ca/endo/
