PLENARY LECTURE
TRANSLATIONAL - Insulin & Insulin-Like Growth Factors in Cancer Risk & Therapy
Tuesday, June 22, 2010
5:30 PM - 6:30 PM

The targeting of endocrine factors in cancer has been one of the most successful treatments to date. While cancer is a disease of genetic mutation, it is clear that many cancer cells still require hormones to fully execute the malignant phenotype. This talk will discuss the evidence for insulin/IGF signaling in cancer, crosstalk between insulin/IGF signaling and other hormone receptor pathways, and review the current strategies to block receptor function as a cancer strategy.
