Note For research on environmental and policy strategies with strong potential to promote healthy eating among children to prevent childhood obesity, especially among those populations at highest risk. New Connections grants are to support new investigators (within 10 years of their terminal degree) representing underrepresented racial/ethnic minority groups, lower-income groups, first-generation college graduates, and other populations historically underrepresented in childhood obesity prevention research.

Title 2012 ASPIRE Young Investigator Research Awards in Endocrinology

Project timeline 1 year
Note Funding will be provided to research proposals that seek to explore basic, translational, or clinical research in the area of endocrine disease in adults and children. The proposed research work could include but is not limited to clinical or basic studies in the GH-IGF system, which might in the future provide a benefit for patients specifically in areas where unmet medical needs exist. Applicants are considered early career "if he/she is within 10 years of completing his/her post-doctoral degree or is within 10 years of completing medical residency (or the equivalent)." The ASPIRE applications will be reviewed by an independent, external review committee comprised of medical and scientific experts.
