2012: Dr. Michael H. Shanik The Endocrine Society is pleased to announce that the 2012 Harold Vigersky Practicing Physician Travel Award recipient is Michael H. Shanik, M.D., an endocrinologist practicing at the Endocrine Associates of Long Island, P.C. in Smithtown, NY. Dr. Shanik attended medical school at New York Medical College and completed his residency at Long Island Jewish Medical Center. Dr. Shanik will receive complimentary registration to ENDO 2012 and a $1,500 stipend for travel and lost productivity. 2011: Dr. Edward D. Javor The Endocrine Society is honored to announce that the 2011 Harold Vigersky Practicing Physician Travel Award recipient is Edward D. Javor, M.D., an endocrinologist practicing at Kaiser Permanente in Riverside, California. Dr. Javor completed his residency at Loma Linda University and his fellowship at the National Institutes of Health. Dr. Javor will receive complimentary registration to the 2011 Clinical Endocrinology Update (CEU) and a $1,500 complimentary stipend for travel and lost productivity. 2010: Dr. Michael K. Laidlaw
About The Harold Vigersky Practicing Physician Travel Award The Harold Vigersky Practicing Physician Travel Award, established by President Robert Vigersky and named for his father, was developed to assist clinical practitioners operating in private practice offset the cost associated with attending The Endocrine Society’s annual meeting (ENDO), or Clinical Endocrinology Update (CEU). Recipients are awarded free registration to either event and a $1,500 stipend for travel and lost productivity.
