Fred Conrad Koch Award

Samuel Refetoff, MD
University of Chicago

Samuel Refetoff discovered resistance to thyroid hormone and elucidated the mechanisms of thyroid hormone action. He determined the molecular basis of 6 thyroid conditions and identified two long-sought regulatory mechanisms in thyroid biology.  Today he has the honor of adding the Koch Award to his list of accomplishments.
