Steven Kahn has been at the forefront of clinical investigation advancing our understanding of the pathophysiology of type 2 diabetes. His studies helped identify the critical role of beta-cell dysfunction in the pathogenesis of hyperglycemia in individuals with diabetes and prediabetes. He has applied this knowledge to the design of studies examining approaches to treat and prevent type 2 diabetes
