Clinical Investigator Award Lecture

Gerald I. Shulman, MD, PhD
Yale University

Dr. Shulman has conducted groundbreaking basic and clinical investigative studies on the cellular mechanisms of insulin resistance in patients with type 2 diabetes that have led to several paradigm shifts in our understanding of the disease. He is the quintessential clinical investigator, who has developed and implemented novel tools to provide important new insights into a disease process, which simply could not have been accomplished at the bench.
