Eligibility Criteria

Nominated Trainees must be currently enrolled as one of the following:

• A fellow in an adult or pediatric endocrine training program
• A medical student in an accredited MD granting program
• A graduate student in a PhD granting program
• A basic-science post-doctoral fellow

All nominees must be members of The Endocrine Society. If you are not yet a member, you must apply for membership before the February 6 nomination deadline.

Participants who attended in the program in previous years are not eligible to apply for the 2012 Trainee Day Travel Award, but may attend the workshop by paying a minimal fee through the general registration on March 2, 2012.

Required Nomination Materials

1. Completed Online Nomination Form 
2. Program Director Signature Page, signed and dated 
3. One-paragraph Letter of Recommendation from Mentor or Program Director

Trainees wishing to participate in the workshop must complete the Online Nomination Form and specify which program track you are interested in attending (clinical or basic science).

Trainees must submit the Program Director Signature Page and Letter of Recommendation by email to awards@endo-society.org with the subject line:  2012 Trainee Day Nomination Form, or if necessary, fax to 301-576-7787.

Selection Process

An independent panel of The Endocrine Society will review and score each application. We will notify Nominees and Program Directors/Research Mentors of the results via email by March 2, 2012.

Guidelines & Important Information

Nominations will be accepted from November 1, 2011 - February 6, 2012.
Applicants should register for ENDO 2012 AFTER March 2 (the Trainee Day notification date). Selected trainees will be responsible for making their own travel arrangements and must attend the entire Endocrine Trainee Day program.

All trainees not selected for a travel award, including past recipients of a travel award, may attend Trainee Day for a minimal fee.  General registration for Trainee Day will open on March 2, 2012.
