Endocrine Trainee Day, held one day prior to ENDO, is a unique opportunity offered to the brightest medical students, graduate students, clinical fellows, and postdoctoral fellows. Trainees will gain insights on career avenues including academia, industry, private practice, and alternative career options. More importantly, trainees will gain exclusive access to established experts in endocrinology and receive new perspectives to consider throughout their training and career transitions.

Throughout the day, preeminent scientists and clinicians lead interactive sessions with specialized programming for clinical and basic science trainees. Sessions will include plenary lectures in translational endocrine research and two concurrent tracks of educational sessions. The faculty will also share their advice on career choices and perspectives on striking a healthy balance between career and personal life.

Endocrine Trainee Day will give attendees the tools to

  • Discuss state-of-the-art research in endocrinology
  • Demonstrate updated knowledge of the diagnosis and treatment of endocrine disorders
  • Employ enhanced skills and practice management techniques to improve patient care
  • Develop new perspectives in career options for clinicians and scientists
  • Apply expert advice to maneuver through training and career transitions
  • Navigate the rigors of a career in endocrinology, including CV development, successful teaching, the art of publishing, how to give a seminar, grant writing, and becoming a mentor

How to Gain Access to Trainee Day:

Trainees interested in attending Endocrine Trainee Day may attend by applying for the Endocrine Traine Day Travel Award or by registering for ENDO and paying a minimal fee.

To apply for this travel award, click here to view application instructions.  An independent panel selects nominees for the travel award through a competitive process. Applicants selected to receive a travel award are provided complimentary registration to Trainee Day and ENDO 2012. The online application for the Trainee Day Travel Award will be available on November 1, 2011 with a deadline of February, 6, 2012. 
 
General Registration
Trainees interested in attending Trainee Day and/or are not selected to receive a travel award can register for ENDO and pay a minimal fee to attend the workshop.  Space is limited and available on a first-come, first-serve basis.  General registration will open in March 2012.
