Endocrine Trainee Day is a prestigious opportunity offered to 275 of the brightest graduate students, postdoctoral fellows and clinical fellows. If you are chosen for the Endocrine Trainee Day Class of 2009, you will receive a $500 travel award and complimentary registration to ENDO 09.

More importantly, you will gain exclusive access to the established experts in endocrinology.

Throughout the day, these preeminent scientists and clinicians will lead interactive sessions, with specialized programming for basic science trainees and adult and pediatric clinical fellows. Sessions will include plenary lectures n translational endocrine research and three concurrent tracks of educational sessions.

The faculty will also share their advice on career choices and perspectives on striking a healthy balance between career and personal life.

An independent panel will select nominees through a competitive process. The nomination deadline is January 31, 2009. Don't miss your opportunity to join the Class of 2009.

The Endocrine Society partners with Lawson Wilkins Pediatric Endocrine Society and Women in Endocrinology to provide this popular program.

Endocrine Trainee Day 09 will give clinical attendees the tools to:

  • Discuss state-of-the-art research in endocrinology
  • Demonstrate updated knowledge of the diagnosis and treatment of endocrine disorders
  • Employ enhanced skills and practice management techniques to improve patient care
Scientific attendees will be able to:
  • Develop new perspectives in career options for scientists
  • Apply expert advice to maneuver through training and career transitions
  • Navigate the rigors of a career in science, including how to give a seminar, grant writing and becoming a mentor
Who is eligible to join the Class of 2009?
  • All graduate students and post-doctoral fellows performing basic endocrine research
  • First or second-year clinical fellows in certified adult endocrinology training programs; priority given to first year fellows
  • Second or third-year pediatric endocrine fellows in certified training programs
Please note: Applicants must be members of The Endocrine Society before the January 31, 2009 nomination deadline. See Nomination Process for details.
Participants of the 2007 and 2008 programs are not eligible for the Class of 2009.

Application Details

Nomination Process

Complete the Nomination Form and specify which program track you are interested in attending (adult clinical, pediatric clinical or basic science). All nominees must be members of The Endocrine Society. Nominations will be accepted from November 17, 2008 - January 31, 2009

Selection Process

An independent panel of The Endocrine Society   will review and score each application. We will notify Nominees and Program Directors/Research Mentors of the results via email by March 13, 2009.

Guidelines & Important Information

Applicants should register for ENDO 09 after March 13 (the Trainee Day selection notification date). Selected trainees will be responsible for making their own travel arrangements and must attend the entire Endocrine Trainee Day program. If you are not yet a member, you must apply for membership before the January 31 nomination deadline.
