Endocrine Insider
January 24, 2008

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) has reissued its request for applications (RFA) for Clinical and Translational Science Awards (CTSA). The reissued RFA indicates two application cycles for the upcoming year, with application deadlines of June 17 and October 21. It also reflects some updated information regarding specific components of the application. Changes include new funding guidelines, changes to the limitations on partnerships among CTSA institutions, a new section encouraging community engagement and diversification of clinical trials, and changes to guidelines regarding trainees. The full RFA can be viewed here: http://grants.nih.gov/grants/guide/rfa-files/RFA-RM-08-002.html.

The National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD) has announced a new funding opportunity for scientists studying male contraception. NICHD will commit approximately $2 million in 2008 to support as many as 10 new or competing renewal awards, for which applicants may request up to $200,000 per year for up to 5 years. The full RFA can be viewed here: http://grants.nih.gov/grants/guide/rfa-files/RFA-HD-08-005.html.

In an effort to ensure that Society members have access to information about relevant funding opportunities, Endocrine Insider regularly features new or recurring funding announcements.
