Alert – Urge Congress to Preserve NIH Funding in FY12

July 22, 2011

The Ad Hoc Group for Medical Research has set up an online petition urging Congress not to cut National Institutes of Health (NIH) funding for fiscal year 2012 (FY12). The Ad Hoc Group, of which the Society is a member, is a coalition in support of increased funding for NIH. The Labor, Health, and Human Services Appropriations bill is pending mark up and faces a potential cut of $18 billion below FY11 levels. The voices of NIH supporters must be heard in order to ensure the preservation of the NIH budget and continued funding of imperative medical research.

Society members are encouraged to sign the online petition. For more information, please contact Katie Moore, Manager of Science Policy, at kmoore@endo-society.org.
